Abba Kyari: Court releases convicted drug couriers arrested by police IRT(pictures)

Convicted drug traffickers Chibunna Patrick Umeibe and Alphonsus were spotted leaving Suleja Correctional Facility after 16 months. They were arraigned by NDLEA in connection to the ongoing case against DCP Abba Kyari and his team who are still in custody while the international drug traffickers they arrested, refused to compromise  and transferred to NDLEA were released today.

The ex-convicts were reportedly arrested by the police at Enugu International Airport and handed over to NDLEA for prosecution.

Chibunna Patrick Umeibe and Emeka Alphonsus pleaded guilty and, through a plea bargain, were sentenced to six years in prison. The sentence was expected to run concurrently, reducing the number of years to two.
