How explosive killed Army Major in Imo

More details have emerged on how a major of the Nigerian Army, Churchill Orji was murdered in Orsu area in Imo State.
In a sitrep sited by naijapolice&u, it was stated that the incident happened on August 22, 2022 at about 7pm during the visit of the garrison commander, one Colonel Agbolade who visited the FOB (Forward Operating Base) camp. After addressing the troops, he requested to be taken on familiarization tour to all flash spot in Orsu Local Government, the camp commander major Churchill Orji agreed and ordered all the standby teams of the agency to get moving and they headed to Ekeotutu market at boundaries between Imo and Anambra.
At Ekeotutu market square where the IED exploded, there was fresh road block mounted by hoodlums suspected to be IPOB members.
The EOD persons switch to action and discovered more fresh buried mines, dynamite and related improvise device.
At this point, everyone is walking since the read was loaded with IED. Suddenly the suspected IPOB members who were hiding in the bushes open fire on the soldiers and there were serious exchange gun shots.
The suspected gunmen fled into the bush while the soldiers led by Major Orji decided to chase them further and possibly make some arrest.
Unfortunately, Major noticed an old Zinc top attached to a plank and was about to remove it from their path when it exploded. He was hit hard on the head by the hidden dynamite planted under the Zinc top. He fell than and became unconscious. He was hurriedly rushed to a hospital in Owerri where he died hours later.
