Police nab NDLEA official for selling hard drugs

Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of an official of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Kelechi Chukwumerije, who was spotted in Lagos selling illicit drugs. He was arrested with 4 kilograms of ‘marshmallow’ at the cement bustop along the Lagos/Abeokuta Express road.

He was arrested by a team of policemen led by one ASP Samuel Sunday,who were on patrol on Saturday, August 12, 2023.

During interrogation, he reportedly claimed that he is attached to the NDLEA office in Tin Can, Lagos, while he gets his supplies from his superiors. He indicted one Emeka Ozougwu as the official who gave him the substance found with him.

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hudenyin, who confirmed the arrest, stated that the investigation is ongoing.
