AIG Adegoke sets up panel to probe abuse in Lagos police cell

The Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone 2 Command. Onikan, Lagos, AlG. Fayoade M. Adegoke, mni, psc, sets up a 6-man panel consisting of DCP. Ajao S. Adewale, mnips, Deputy Commissioner of Police in-charge of Zonal Criminal Investigation Department (ZCID), ACP. Ogunsakin Gbenga, Phd, Officer in-charge of Zonal Intelligence Department, Mr. Emma Nndozie, Group Crime Editor, Vanguard Newspaper, Comrade Prince Adeoye Adewunmi, a Human Rights Activist, Ivy Kanu of TVC News and Barrister Mrs. Blessing Afe, a Lawyer and Social worker to probe the incident which was reported via a video that went viral, recently, where a woman alleged she was detained at Maroko Police Station Cell alongside some male and under-aged individuals.

The panel is to be formally inaugurated by AIG. Fayoade M. Adegoke at the M.D. Abubakar Conference Hall, Zone 2 Command Headquarters, Onikan, Lagos, at 12:00 noon on Friday, 4th October, 2024. This is in line with the contemporary force leadership stand on respect for human rights and gender-related matters.
