Bandits Kill 10 Police Personnel, Two Civilians in Kebbi Attack, Cart Away Arms

Armed bandits have reportedly killed ten police personnel attached to the 44 Police Mobile Force (PMF), Abuja, and two civilians during a gun duel at Makuku Village in Sakaba Local Government Area of Kebbi State.

The incident occurred on Monday, August 10, 2026, following an attack by armed bandits in the area.

According to reliable sources, the bodies of the slain personnel were discovered by a team led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Sakaba Division, DSP Umaru Bagudu, who visited the scene after the gun battle.

The victims were identified as ASP Bala Buba, 43; Inspector Saminu Sulaiman, 40; Inspector Solomon Jatau, 39; Inspector Ayuba Hassan, 38; Inspector Umar Yahuza, 37; Inspector Auwal Sani, 38; Sergeant Jimoh Momo, 35; Corporal Ukpong Otrukmj, 34; Inspector Adamu Abdullahi, 35; and Inspector Abdullahi Magaji, 43.

Two civilians, identified as Mohammadu Magwawara, 50, and Muhammadu Tiritiri, 45, were also killed in the attack.

Their remains were evacuated to the General Hospital, Dirin Daji, where they were confirmed dead.

Another civilian, identified as Shehu Abubakar, 41, sustained serious gunshot injuries and was referred to the Federal Teaching Hospital, Birnin Kebbi, for further medical treatment.

Reliable sources further disclosed that the bandits carted away several firearms and ammunition during the attack, including one RPG rifle, two riot guns and ten AK-47 rifles.

Efforts are reportedly ongoing to track down the attackers and recover the stolen firearms.
