Boko Haram attack police station, kill one

Suspected Boko Haram terrorists have reportedly  attacked the Jakana Police Station in Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State, leading to the death of a policeman and a woman.

The attackers, who struck around 1:00 am, engaged in a gunfight with security operatives until 3:00 am.

During the assault, the insurgents overpowered the officers, gaining access to the station where they looted arms and ammunition.

They also set fire to two patrol vehicles and a motorcycle. One of the destroyed vehicles belonged to the police, while the other was used by the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF).

The Chairman of Konduga Local Government, Hon Abbas Ali Abari, confirmed the attack to Daily Trust.

Jakana, which is situated along Damaturu -Maiduguri expressway, is about 45 kilometers away from Maiduguri, the Borno state capital.
