Borno Youth Forum has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to release the former head of the IGP Intelligent Response Team (IGP-IRT), DCP Abba Kyari, on account of his exploits against Boko Haram terrorists and kidnappers in the country.
In an open letter , signed by Ahmed Yusuf, Chairman of the Forum, the group said Kyari’s antecedents speak for him, especially now that the country is experiencing kidnapping and other insecurity situations.

Appeal for Presidential Pardon for DCP Abba Kyari’s Service to Nigeria
We write to you on behalf of One Voice Development Initiative (OneVoiD), a collective of concerned citizens dedicated to promoting justice and integrity in Nigeria, to appeal for your consideration in granting a presidential pardon for Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Abba Kyari.
DCP Abba Kyari has exemplified unwavering dedication and exceptional bravery in his service to our nation, particularly in the relentless fight against banditry and insurgency. His exploits and contributions to national security have been widely acknowledged and have significantly bolstered the efforts of law enforcement agencies in combating these grave threats to our society.
In the face of unprecedented challenges posed by criminal elements seeking to destabilize our nation, DCP Abba Kyari has demonstrated remarkable leadership, resourcefulness, and resilience. His strategic initiatives and operational acumen have resulted in numerous successful operations leading to the apprehension of notorious criminals/Terrorist/Kidnappers and the disruption of their nefarious activities.
At this critical juncture in Nigeria’s history, characterized by escalating security concerns and the urgent need for capable and committed individuals to lead the charge against insecurity, DCP Abba Kyari’s expertise, experience, and dedication are indispensable assets to our nation. His continued involvement and leadership in the fight against crime are vital to safeguarding the lives and properties of our fellow citizens and preserving the integrity of our beloved country.
Your Excellency, we humbly urge you to exercise your prerogative of mercy and grant a presidential pardon to DCP Abba Kyari, recognizing his invaluable service and sacrifices in defense of our nation.
