The Nigeria Police Force received a major boost on Friday as a prominent business leader stepped in to support crime-fighting efforts with critical technology.
Omolola Olugbokiki, CEO and Founder of Al Muqeet Group of Companies, paid a courtesy visit to the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex in Alagbon, Ikoyi, where he pledged his commitment to strengthening police operations.
During the visit, Olugbokiki donated Information Technology and Electronic Data Processing (IT/EDP) equipment to the department, aimed at improving digital record-keeping, administrative efficiency, and overall policing effectiveness.
The visit was hosted by Simeon Akpanudom, the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of the FCID Annex, who expressed gratitude for the gesture.
Olugbokiki, an indigene of Oke-Odan in Ogun State, said his decision to support the police was partly inspired by a personal connection to a former officer. He stressed the importance of collaboration between private organizations and law enforcement agencies in tackling crime.
He also praised officers at the FCID Annex for their dedication and resilience in maintaining security.
Responding, AIG Akpanudom described the donation as timely and impactful, noting that partnerships like this are key to modern policing. He called on other individuals and corporate bodies to follow suit in supporting the police.
The FCID Annex says it remains committed to building strong partnerships that will enhance professionalism, innovation, and effective service delivery in line with people-centered policing goals.
The event was formally communicated in a statement signed by Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mayegun Am
