The randy businessman in Lagos, Amarah Kennedy, that dared the Lagos Command to arrest him after he was alleged to have circulated nude photos of his ex-lovers has warned police and journalist to allow him settle with his lovers.
Punch Metro had reported that Kennedy sent the photos to the WhatsApp platform of the church of one of the women identified simply as Kester. He also sent the photos to her late husband’s family members and office.
The 44-year-old also noted that he was ready to make peace with his victims but needed assurance that the police would stay out of the case.
Kennedy, who hails from the Umunze community in Anambra State, stated these in WhatsApp chats with our correspondent on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa, had asked the suspect to come forward to prove his innocence at the command headquarters.
But Kennedy, while speaking to this reporter on WhatsApp, said he had stopped spreading the photos.
He reportedly stated, “You need to stop writing about me too. If you want me to do what you have suggested. I saw the story this morning (Wednesday) and I was wondering where all those information came from, unfortunately now whatever I say will be my word against theirs.
“I am not asking you to stop writing; I am saying the stories you write daily about me; can you stop. Let me find a way to resolve all these.
“I want to settle this issue out of the police. I am ready to do anything to make peace, but I want this issue resolved outside of the police.”
He then promised to be at the command headquarters on Friday.
Meanwhile a renowned human right lawyer, Tony Dania has volunteered to defend the victims free of charge. He called on the state commissioner of police to quickly pick him up and him over for prosecution. ” On the issue of the widow whose nude pictures are been deliberately circulated, I want to ensure that justice is done in the case, the suspect arrested, investigated, prosecuted and jailed, then he pays adequate compensation to her, even if we have to sell his properties, including his singlets.
“The Lady will definitely need to visit the medical Experts and Counsellors for special counselling, I will ensure that she gets that treatment.
Then, we can arrange for crowd funding to re-establish her and use her as a means of reaching out to other victims who are in similar situation like hers, but have yielded to blackmail. It is really sad that such an individual
will be parading the streets of Lagos with impunity. I am ready to defend the family on a pro bono basis, Kennedy should be locked up in the correctional service,” he stated.
