The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, has charged senior police officers across the state to remain proactive and vigilant in tackling security challenges, while intensifying intelligence gathering and effective supervision of personnel.
Speaking during a strategic security meeting held at the Command Headquarters in Ikeja on Thursday, the Commissioner met with Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), Police Mobile Force Commanders, and other tactical commanders to review the security situation in Lagos and strengthen operational readiness.

CP Tijani stressed the importance of professionalism, discipline, and prompt response to security threats, urging commanders to pass the same values down to officers under their command.
In a major boost to police operations, the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) donated 200 bulletproof helmets and 200 bulletproof vests to the Lagos State Police Command to enhance officer safety and operational effectiveness.
The equipment was presented by the Executive Secretary of LSSTF, Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan, who reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to supporting security agencies with the tools needed to protect lives and property.
The Police Commissioner expressed gratitude to the LSSTF for its continued partnership and support, noting that the protective gear would improve officers’ confidence and efficiency, especially those engaged in frontline operations.
He also commended Lagos residents for their cooperation with law enforcement agencies and appealed for greater collaboration in the fight against crime.
CP Tijani urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities through the Command’s emergency lines as efforts continue to ensure the safety and security of all residents and visitors in Lagos State.
