The Government of Cross River State has congratulated the Director of the Nigeria Police Force National Cyber Crime Centre (NPF-NCCC), CP Akaninyene Ifeanyi Ezima, on his promotion to the rank of Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG).
In a congratulatory letter dated July 3, 2026, and signed by the Commissioner for Information, Erasmus Ekpang, the state government described the promotion as well deserved and a testament to Ezima’s dedication, professionalism, and outstanding contributions to policing in Nigeria.
The government noted that the elevation to the rank of AIG is not only a personal milestone in Ezima’s distinguished career but also a source of pride for the people of Cross River State. It commended his exceptional leadership, unwavering commitment to duty, and remarkable achievements, particularly in the fight against cybercrime.
According to the letter, the promotion reflects Ezima’s discipline, hard work, and visionary approach to service over the years. The state government further stated that his accomplishments have continued to bring honour to Cross River State and the Nigeria Police Force.
The government expressed confidence in his ability to excel in his new role and urged him to continue upholding the values of justice, fairness, integrity, and professionalism as he assumes greater responsibilities within the Force.
