The Governor of Abia State, Governor Alex Chioma Otti, has charged Nigerian youth not to be instruments used in enabling and facilitating the corrupt activities of unproductive government.
The governor, who was represented by his deputy, Chief Ikechukwu Emetu, stated this while welcoming some members of the National Youth Organisation who came on a courtesy call in his office.

In his words, “desist from activities that cause mayhem and do not aid unproductive government.”.
He thanked them for identifying with the Abia State Government and urged the youths to join and build a progressive nation.
In his address during the courtesy call, Mr. Okorie C. Okorie, the president of the Nigeria Youth Organisation, pointed out that the Nigeria Youth Organisation was founded with the belief that the youth as a class have a common destiny and obligation to the society, the nation, and humanity at large.
He said, “We are committed to excellence and patriotism as well as poised at building a virile, more united, and progressive Nigeria.”.
Okorie, while appreciating the governor for welcoming them, explained that the organisation, having monitored the antecedent of Governor Otti since his inception, agreed to visit him to declare their unalloyed support and solidarity to his Excellency and to officially commend his leadership ingenuity by conferring him with a distinguished National Merit Award of Excellence as the most dedicated Nigerian governor.
They also further officially decorated his Excellency as the National Executive Patron of the Nigeria Youth Organisation and used the opportunity to request that Governor Otti establish the Abia State Youth Centre Commission and also build the Abia Centre for Youth Development.
Honourable Prince Chinonso, South East Vice President of the National Youth Organisation, while giving a vote of thanks, noted that if you build the youth, you are building the nation, and if you empower the youth, you are empowering the nation. He appreciated his Excellency for giving them an audience and for the hospitality, emphasizing the readiness of their organisation to support the Governor Alex Otti-led government.
