IGP Disu Names CSP Anietie Iniedu as New Police Spokesman

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has approved the appointment of CSP Anietie Okokon Edem Iniedu as the new Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO) of the Nigeria Police Force.

A native of Etinan Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, CSP Iniedu is a seasoned police officer with vast experience in public communication, operational policing, intelligence management, institutional accountability and administration.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Pure Chemistry from the University of Uyo and has attended several professional courses in investigative interviewing, crime scene management, human rights-based policing, strategic communication and intelligence analysis.

Before his appointment, CSP Iniedu served as Head of the Complaint Response Unit (CRU) at the Force Headquarters, Abuja, where he coordinated public complaint management and spearheaded initiatives aimed at enhancing transparency, accountability and public trust in the Nigeria Police Force.

He had earlier served as Public Relations Officer of the Police College of Information Technology, Kobape, Ogun State, among other operational and administrative assignments across the country.

His career trajectory includes serving as Operations Officer at Maisandari Division in Yobe State, Area Crime Officer at Umuahia Area Command in Abia State, Staff Officer at the IGP Secretariat, Force Headquarters, Second-in-Command of the 50 Police Mobile Force Squadron, Kubwa, and Officer-in-Charge of the Force Headquarters Situation Room.

As head of the Situation Room, he supervised the coordination and dissemination of crime and security information nationwide.

The IGP expressed confidence in CSP Iniedu’s ability to lead the Force Public Relations Department, noting that his professional background and wealth of experience would further strengthen the Force’s strategic communication efforts and deepen public engagement in support of ongoing policing reforms and operational successes.
