The Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company (IKEDC) on Monday announced a reduction in the tariff payable by its Band A customers to N206.80 per kilowatt-hour.

The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) earlier approved the upward review of electricity tariff for Band A to N225/kWh.
The notice by the Ikeja electricity distributor said the reduction of the tariff for its premium customers would take effect from Monday, May 6, 2024.

It, however, said that the tariffs of customers on other bands would remain the same.

The notice said: “Dear Esteemed Customers, please be informed of the downward tariff review of our Band A feeders from N225/kWh to N206.80/kWh effective 6th May 2024 with guaranteed availability of 20-24hrs supply daily.

“The tariff for Bands B, C, D, and E remains unchanged.”

This comes amid outrage over the increase in electricity tariff amid biting inflation.
