The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Lagos State Strategic Command has concluded its maiden Annual Conference for Assistant Superintendents of Narcotics I & II, with a strong call to intensify efforts in the fight against drug abuse across Nigeria.

Held over two days at the NDLEA Office, 1st Rainbow, Festac, Lagos, the conference carried the theme “Consolidate the War Against Drug Abuse” and brought together key officers from various operational units under the command.

In his closing remarks, Mr. Abubakar Liman Wali, the Lagos State NDLEA Commander, commended the officers for their discipline, engagement, and commitment throughout the sessions. He described the conference as a landmark initiative that not only broadened the participants’ understanding of current challenges but also reinforced unity and professionalism within the agency.

“The insights shared, the experiences exchanged, and the strategies proposed have laid a solid foundation upon which we must now build with urgency and resolve,” Commander Wali stated.

He urged participants to translate the knowledge gained into practical enforcement actions, stronger coordination, and deeper community outreach in their respective areas of assignment.

According to him, the Assistant Superintendents represent not only the backbone but also the future of the NDLEA’s mission to rid the country of drug abuse and trafficking.

Commander Wali also extended appreciation to all resource persons, facilitators, and support staff who contributed to the successful hosting of the conference.

“Let us leave here re-energized, refocused, and fully committed to our shared mandate,” he concluded, wishing officers safe return and continued success in their service to the nation.

The conference marks a significant step in building capacity and operational synergy within the NDLEA ranks, as the agency intensifies its strategic and grassroots approach in tackling drug-related crimes.
