Operation KO S’AYE III: Lagos Police Nab 147 Suspects, Seize Weapons and Illicit Drugs

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested 147 suspects and recovered a cache of weapons, ammunition and illicit drugs during a coordinated raid on criminal hideouts across the state under the ongoing Operation KO S’AYE III.

The operation, carried out in the early hours of Sunday, July 19, 2026, targeted identified black spots, including Boolar, Super Ile-Epo and other locations known for criminal activities.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, the raid followed credible intelligence and involved a joint team of operatives drawn from various formations of the Command.

She said the operation was aimed at flushing out hoodlums and other criminal elements terrorising residents and threatening public safety in the affected communities.

Items recovered during the operation included 250 expanded cartridges, 22 machetes, five battle axes, two knives, a pair of scissors, assorted charms, a lighter and substances suspected to be Indian hemp.

The police said all 147 suspects are currently in custody while investigations continue to determine their level of involvement in criminal activities. Those found culpable will be charged to court.

Commending the operatives for their professionalism and dedication to duty, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to sustaining Operation KO S’AYE III across the state.

He stressed that the operation would continue as part of efforts to deny criminals safe havens, dismantle criminal networks and enhance the safety and security of residents.

The Commissioner also urged members of the public to continue providing timely and credible information to assist the police in identifying criminal hideouts, apprehending offenders and preventing crime.

He assured Lagos residents that the Command remains committed to protecting lives and property and maintaining law and order across the state.
