Top investors from the South-West have perfected plans to take over ownership of the New Telegraph. The New Telegraph is a national newspaper based in Nigeria and owned by Senator Orji Uzor Kalu.
Though details of the takeover are sketchy, it was reliably gathered that businessmen led by Kunle Gidado, Ayo Babatunde, and Niyi Babatunde have finalized plans with the owners of New Telegraph for a smooth handover by October 2023. The mode of transfer, as gathered, could be a share swap or cash payment.
Founded in 2013, the board of the New Telegraph is chaired by Kunle Gidado, with Ayo Aminu as the managing director and editor-in-chief.
