Tinubu Sacks Five Ministers, Appoints Seven

President Bola Tinubu has dismissed five ministers and appointed seven fresh faces in a major cabinet reshuffle.

The shakeup saw 10 other ministers reassigned to new portfolios, signaling a strategic shift in Tinubu’s government.

Among the sacked officials are Uju-Ken Ohanenye (Women Affairs), Lola Ade-John (Tourism), Tahir Mamman (Education), Abdullahi Gwarzo (State for Housing and Urban Development), and Jamila Ibrahim (Youth Development).

The President has also nominated Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, and Nentawe Yilwatda will take over as Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, officially ending suspended Betta Edu’s tenure.

Other key appointments include Maigari Dingyadi as Minister of Labour and Employment, Jumoke Oduwole for Industry, Idi Maiha for the newly created Ministry of Livestock Development, Yusuf Ata as Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, and Suwaiba Ahmad as Minister of State for Education.

President Tinubu also named Shehu Dikko as the new Chairman of the National Sports Commission, while Sunday Akin Dare has been appointed Special Adviser on Public Communication and Orientation, working under the Ministry of Information and National Orientation.

Acknowledging the contributions of the outgoing ministers, Tinubu expressed gratitude for their service and urged the newly appointed officials to embrace their roles as a call to serve the nation.
