University of Maiduguri appoints Professors Bako, Waziri Deputy VCs

The Governing Council of the University of Maiduguri has approved the appointment of two new Deputy Vice-Chancellors.
Professor Babagana Bako of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology has been appointed Deputy Vice-Chancellor(Central Administration)while Professor Mohammed Ahmed Waziri of the Department of Veterinary Surgery and Therigenology has been appointed Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic Services).
According to a statement signed by the school management stated that their appointments was made on the recommendations of the Vice Chancellor and with the approval of the University Senate were conveyed in a letter signed by the Registra, Ahmed Alhaji Lawan .
“The appointments are in line with section 4(1)-4(5) of the Universities (Miscellaneous Provisions ) Decree No 11 of 1993 and each will serve a tenure of two years.
“The appointments takes effect from September 18, 2025.”
