US embassy lists places prone to attack in Abuja

The United States has issued a security advisory on insecurity in Nigeria.
It asked its citizens to avoid all non-essential travel or movement as a result of what it termed elevated risk of terror attacks in Nigeria, especially Abuja.
This is according to its advisory on the United States Embassy website.

The advisory reads in part: ” Event: There is an elevated risk of terror attacks in Nigeria, specifically in Abuja.
According to the advisory, targets may include, but are not limited to, government buildings, places of worship, schools, markets, shopping malls, hotels, bars, restaurants, athletic gatherings, transport terminals, law enforcement facilities, and international organizations.
The United States Embassy will offer reduced services until further notice.
