A 32-year-old Sierra Leonean woman, Mariama Bah, was allegedly killed by her husband, Hassana Jalloh, with a knife and hammer in Columbus.
According to the report, Jalloh waited after their kids had gone to school before he killed his wife and then called 911.
It was also reported that the Columbus police responded just before 9:20 a.m. to a report of a domestic violence incident in the 2100 block of Yorkhull Lane in the city’s Northland area.
Upon their arrival at the scene, officers found Mariama Bah unresponsive from apparent blunt force trauma, according to homicide detectives, and the Columbus Division of Fire medics pronounced Bah dead at the scene at 9:37 a.m.
The deceased husband Hassana Jalloh, 55, has been charged by homicide detectives with aggravated murder and premeditated aggravated murder in connection with Bah’s death.
Homicide detectives report stated that they are still investigating the circumstances surrounding her death, but court records indicate Jalloh told a dispatcher and officers he used a hammer and a knife to kill Bah.
Jalloh told investigators he waited until their children went to school before he killed his wife, court records state.
