A 28-year-old woman identified as Yemisi Ogunlana has been arrested by operatives of the Ogun State police for allegedly cutting her husband’s manhood during an argument.

Yemisi was reported to have used a sharp object to cut 31-year-old Idowu Adebowale in the Oko-Oba area of Ogijo.

This was contained in a statement by the command’s spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, made available to newsmen on Monday.

According to the statement, the husband had reported the incident to the Ogijo Division of the command at about 5:15 p.m.

The publicist noted that the suspect, after being arrested, denied the allegations during interrogation.

Odutola said, “He reported an attempted murder case on Monday at about 5:15 p.m.

“A 31-year-old man named Idowu Adebowale, from the Oko-Oba area of Ogijo, came to the police station and stated that on October 15 at 4:30 a.m., his wife, 28-year-old Ogunlana Yemisi, used a sharp object to severely injure his manhood during a minor disagreement.

“He showed the officers the injury, revealing a significant cut near the tip of his penis.

“But given the severity of the injury and the length of time the complainant had not sought medical help, he was provided with a medical form and advised to go to the hospital,” she said.

Odutola noted that the suspect is currently in custody and that the case will be transferred to the SCID in Abeokuta for further investigation.

Meanwhile, she attributed the suspected cause of the incident to uncontrolled anger, which led to domestic violence.
