The Lagos State Police Command has announced the death of its Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Finance and Administration, DCP Khan Salihu, who passed away on Monday, June 15, 2026.
In a statement issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, the Command described the late officer as a dedicated, disciplined and highly professional police officer whose contributions to the Nigeria Police Force were invaluable.
According to the statement, DCP Salihu served the Force with loyalty, integrity and exceptional commitment throughout his distinguished career, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues and subordinates alike.
The Command noted that his vast experience, administrative expertise and leadership qualities significantly contributed to the effective management and operational efficiency of the Lagos State Police Command.
Reacting to the sad development, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Olaiwola Fatai, expressed deep sorrow over the loss, describing it as a painful blow to the Command.
On behalf of officers and men of the Command, the Commissioner extended heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and associates of the deceased, praying that God grants them the strength to bear the irreparable loss.
The Command further stated that DCP Salihu would be remembered for his humility, professionalism, selfless service and unwavering dedication to duty, adding that his legacy would continue to inspire serving officers of the Nigeria Police Force.
He is survived by family members, colleagues and loved ones.
