The Board of Trustees of the Police Veterans Foundation is set to honour the memory of late former Inspector-General of Police, IGP Solomon Arase, with a public lecture in Abuja.
The lecture, scheduled for August 31, 2026, will be held at the Nigeria Police Resource Centre, Jabi, Abuja, from 10:00am.

The event is themed: “Policing, Good Governance, and National Development: The Strategic Role of Police Veterans in Building a Secure Nation.”
According to the organisers, the lecture is aimed at examining the contributions of police veterans to effective policing, good governance and national development, while highlighting their continued role in strengthening Nigeria’s security architecture.
The event will also provide an opportunity for colleagues, friends, security stakeholders and members of the public to reflect on the legacy of late IGP Arase and his contributions to policing and national security.
Arase, who served as Inspector-General of Police, was widely recognised for his career in the Nigeria Police Force and his contributions to police reform and professional policing.
The Police Veterans Foundation urged interested members of the public and stakeholders to attend the lecture as the country continues to explore innovative approaches to policing and national security.
