The Lagos State Police Command has arrested four suspected members of an armed robbery syndicate allegedly terrorising residents around Iju-Ishaga and Oke-Aro areas of the state.
The suspects — Damilare Oluwatobi, 28; Lekan Adenuga, 30; Haruna Sheriff, 22; and David Balogun, 24 — were arrested at their hideout in Idi-Oro, Mushin, following sustained intelligence gathering by operatives of the Command’s Violent Crime Response Unit (VCRU).
Police said a search of the hideout led to the recovery of 25 mobile phones, two laptops, a gold necklace and earrings, and three cutlasses.
The suspects are currently in police custody and are assisting investigators in tracing the source of the recovered items and establishing their links to alleged robbery operations.
The Command said efforts were ongoing to apprehend other members of the syndicate who may be connected to the alleged crimes.
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, commended the VCRU operatives for what he described as a swift, intelligence-led operation.
He reiterated the Command’s commitment to dismantling criminal networks across Lagos and urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to the police.
