The Nigerian Navy has announced the commencement of its 2026 recruitment exercise for Batch 39 of the Nigerian Navy Basic Training School (NNBTS).
The recruitment announcement was contained in guidelines published by the Navy on its official X handle on Monday.
Application Period
The exercise will run from October 2 to October 31, 2026.
The Navy said applications are free of charge and must be completed online by eligible candidates.
Applicants are expected to provide accurate information and submit all required documents through the official recruitment portal.
How to Apply
Interested candidates are required to apply through the official Nigerian Navy recruitment website.
The Navy warned applicants against paying money to individuals claiming to have the ability to facilitate recruitment.
“Online registration and other recruitment processes are free of charge and no payment should be made at any point to anyone throughout the Exercise,” the Navy said.
Basic Requirements
To qualify for the recruitment exercise, applicants must:
- Be single Nigerian citizens by birth.
- Possess a National Identification Number (NIN)/NIN slip or BVN.
- Be medically, physically and psychologically fit in accordance with the stipulated service standards.
- Have no criminal conviction by a court of law.
- Be at least 1.69 metres tall for males and 1.65 metres for females.
- Be between 18 and 22 years old as of December 31, 2026.
Educational Qualifications
Applicants must possess at least five credits, including Mathematics and English Language, in not more than two sittings in any of the following examinations:
- WASSCE
- GCE
- NECO
- NABTEB
Candidates applying as tradesmen or women must also possess the relevant Trade Test or City & Guild certificate, with further details contained in the recruitment guidelines.
