Former Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Solomon Arase has passed away at Cedarcrest Hospital in Abuja.
He was 69-years-old.
As of the time of filing this report, neither his family nor the Nigeria Police Force has issued an official statement confirming the development.
Investigations by NewsmakersNG revealed that Arase was flown into Nigeria in a coma from Morocco, after he allegedly suffered food poisoning at a wedding ceremony.
Sources disclosed that there was hope of recovery yesterday when he briefly regained consciousness, but he later relapsed and passed away this morning.
