The Lagos State Police Command has announced the arrest of Adedayo Ben Adegbola, a commercial taxi driver, in connection with multiple cases of rape, defilement, assault occasioning harm, indecent assault, and armed robbery against female passengers in various parts of the state.
The arrest was made possible through a thorough investigation conducted by the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) after the suspect’s picture went viral on social media, with several victims identifying him as the perpetrator.
During the arrest, the police recovered a red Toyota Corolla vehicle with registration number JJJ 226 HT, which was used by the suspect to commit the crimes. The vehicle has been secured as an exhibit and will be used as evidence in the prosecution of the suspect.
The suspect is currently in police detention, and the investigation is ongoing to identify and apprehend any other individuals who may have been involved in the commission of the crimes.
The Lagos State Police Command urges any victims of the suspect to come forward and provide relevant information and evidence to aid in the investigation. The police have assured victims that their identities will be protected.
