Police Arrest 20 Suspected Cultists Linked to Officer’s Murder

The Zone 2 Police Command in Lagos has announced the arrest of 20 suspects linked to the murder of a police officer in Ilesi community, near Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State.

According to reports, the suspects, members of the Neo Black Movement (NBM), also known as Aye Fraternity, stormed the community on November 29, 2025, in retaliation for an assault on one of their members. The officer, who was a resident of the community, was killed while trying to intervene, and his left hand was amputated by the attackers.

The police launched a coordinated operation, tracking the suspects to a hideout in Ogbere, Ogun State, where the 20 suspects were arrested. Exhibits recovered include firearms, mobile phones, cash, and other items.

AIG Adegoke M. Fayoade, Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 2 Command, has vowed to ensure the perpetrators face the full wrath of the law.
