The Prayer and Support for Nigerian Armed Forces and Other Security Agencies (PSNAFSA) has commended the Nigerian Armed Forces, the Nigeria Police Force, other security and intelligence agencies, local hunters, vigilante groups and patriotic citizens for the successful rescue of abducted pupils and teachers from Oyo State after 56 days in captivity.

In a statement, the group praised the Nigerian Navy Special Boat Service (SBS), the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Panthers and the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) Tactical Team, describing their coordinated response as evidence of the value of inter-agency collaboration in complex rescue operations.

PSNAFSA said the safe return of the victims brought relief and renewed hope to their families and Nigerians who had followed the case with concern, adding that the operation reflected the resilience and professionalism of security personnel.

The group also paid tribute to Lieutenant Felix Ademe Isaac, a Nigerian Army officer who died during the early phase of the rescue mission. Born on 25 August 1997, Isaac was buried on 10 July, the same day the abducted pupils and teachers regained freedom. PSNAFSA said his death underscored the sacrifices made by security personnel in the line of duty.

It also mourned the teacher who lost his life during the incident, praying for the repose of his soul and comfort for his family, colleagues and the school community.

The organisation said the operation highlighted the role of local hunters, community vigilantes and citizens who provided intelligence and support, stressing that defeating criminality requires cooperation between security agencies and the communities they serve.

PSNAFSA urged Nigerians to continue supporting the armed forces and other security agencies with timely information, vigilance and prayers, while calling on the Federal Government to improve equipment, logistics, intelligence and welfare for personnel.

It prayed for divine protection for troops and security personnel and expressed hope that other abducted Nigerians across the country would also regain their freedom.
