Female passenger, Comfort Bob, who allegedly assaulted Ibom Air’s crew and clashed with airport security at the Murtala Muhammed Airport in Lagos, has been remanded at Kirikiri Maxi-mum Security prison in Lagos.
The 26-year-old woman, yesterday, appeared before an Ikeja Magistrate’s Court sitting in Ogba, Lagos, for allegedly causing chaos aboard an Ibom Air flight shortly after it landed at Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal 2 (MMA2), Ikeja.
On her arraignment ,
Airport Command PRO, CSP Daramola Kazeem in a statement stated , “ The failure of a Lagos bound passanger on Ibom Air flight number LANS13 from Uyo to Lagos on Sunday 10th of August, 2025, at about 1045hrs to adhere to instructions of one of the flight attendants, Juliana Edward to switch off her cell phone before take off caused a lot of rancour and argument between the passanger, Miss Comfort Bob Emanson ‘f’ 26 years and the crew member even after the intervention of co passanger sitting beside her who also prevailed on her to switch off her phone being the standard practice for safety reasons. All persuasions fell on deaf ears.
The suspect who obviously felt enraged before take off waited till she got to Lagos before she went for the crew member again and this time abused and physically attacked her after she waited for all passengers to disembark from the aircraft. She was reported to have stepped on the foot of the crew member and slapped her. She also abused and assaulted another crew member named Jokpame Sajun ‘f’ by hitting slippers on her face.
During the scuffle, the curtain separating business class from economy was torn and damaged just as she seized the fire extinguisher she laid her hand on in the plane in an attempt to hit anyone on her way.
It took efforts of airport security to disembark her and handed her over to the police.
On completion of investigation, the suspect was today the 11th of August, 2025 arraigned before Magistrate Salami of Magistrate court 18, Ogba Ikeja, Lagos on five count charge.
She pleaded not guilty to the charges, case adjourned to 6th of October, 2025 for hearing just as she was remanded in kirikiri correctional center pending when she meets her bail conditions.”
