The National President of the Police Officers’ Wives Association (POWA), Chief Mrs. Olufunmilola Disu, has provided financial and welfare support to women traders and widows in police barracks across the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
During unannounced visits to the markets at Area C Police Barracks, Nyanya, and 44 PMF Barracks, Kuje, Mrs. Disu interacted with traders, widows and spouses of serving police officers, listening to their challenges and assessing their needs.

Moved by their stories, she distributed cash grants, food items and business support packages to selected beneficiaries to help strengthen their livelihoods.
According to Mrs. Disu, the outreach, conducted ahead of the 2026 POWA National Convention, was part of the POWA CARES Initiative, aimed at promoting welfare, healthcare and economic empowerment for police families.
Beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the intervention, describing it as a timely boost to their businesses and a source of renewed hope.
The outreach underscores POWA’s commitment to supporting widows and families of serving and fallen police officers through practical welfare and empowerment programmes.
