One of Nigeria’s foremost entrepreneurs, Chief Obiwulu Divine Obiora, has stated how he has collaborated with regulatory agencies, including the Standard Organisation of Nigeria (SON) to eradicate fake products from the country’s markets.
Chief Obiora made the disclosure on Friday at the Oriental Hotels, Lagos, at the launch of a book, “The Entrepreneurial Mindset, Unlocking Your Potentials”, a book on comprehensive guide to aspiring and established entrepreneurs, written by him.
Speaking with journalists on what motivated him for writing the book, he said the Nigeria’s business environment, and the way businesses are being run in this country actually spurred him to come up with the work given his more than 25 years experience in entrepreneurship.
According to him, the questions affecting businesses in Nigeria, and why people are not getting it right are answered in book, which he has been compiling for over five years.
“One of the things you will find in the book that has 13 chapters is understanding regulatory bodies that are involved in the kind of business you do, because for every business you have to do in Nigeria, you need to understand the regulatory bodies that function around it. If you don’t understand the operations of the SON or the NAFDAC, and other regulatory bodies, there is no way you will function effectively.
The Chairman of the occasion, Dr. Kennedy Okonkwo, the CEO of Nedcomoaks Limited, praised the author for writing the book, saying before now, books on entrepreneurship were ones written by foreigners, as well as those who were not really full in entrepreneurship, eulogising Obiora for coming up with a work that uses local business challenges as case studies.
Dr. Okonkwo also said the uniqueness of the book lies in the fact that he dissected the major problems plaguing entrepreneurship in Nigeria, using those who have navigated through those challenges as example, thus highly recommending the book to Nigerians.
Other speakers during a panel section, which included the author, Obiora, Chief Kingsley Ilechukwu, Chief Ebere Nwosu and Dr Kennedy Okonkwo, relayed their experiences and how they braved the odds to be where they are today, challenging both existing, aspiring entrepreneurs to imbibe resilience in order to attain greatness in their quest.
