The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared former Chairman of the defunct Pension Reform Task Force, Abdulrasheed Maina, wanted over an alleged case of receiving stolen property.
The EFCC made the declaration in a public notice signed by its Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, on Wednesday.
Maina, 61, was previously prosecuted alongside his son, Faisal, over alleged money laundering and concealment of proceeds of unlawful acts.
He was arraigned before a Federal High Court in Abuja on October 25, 2019, on a 12-count charge and was subsequently sentenced to 61 years in prison after being convicted on several counts.
The court found him guilty of offences linked to the alleged diversion and concealment of funds, including deposits of N300 million, N500 million and N1.5 billion in accounts with UBA and Fidelity Bank.
The EFCC, in its latest notice, said Maina is wanted in connection with an alleged case of receiving stolen property.
The commission urged anyone with useful information about his whereabouts to contact its offices nationwide, the nearest police station or other security agencies.
